The KleenWater Sediment and Corrosion Control Water Filtration System is specifically designed for residential and light commercial applications that have water with low pH levels. This dual filter system features a transparent housing, allowing visual inspection of the cartridge condition. The first stage uses the KW4520G dirt, rust, and sediment filter cartridge, which is a 5-micron filter with end caps and gaskets that facilitate a positive seal and superior filtration. It is recommended to replace this filter cartridge every 8-12 months.

The second filter in the series is the KW4520-CorrCon, which contains magnesium oxide and calcium carbonate alkaline media to boost the pH from acidic to neutral or even slightly alkaline. As the acidic water passes through this stage of the filtration process, a small amount of the alkaline filtration media is dissolved into the water, thereby bringing the pH towards neutral. This filter also contains Siliphos Spheres, which sequester the alkaline hardness minerals that are often naturally occurring and added as a result of the neutralizing process. The Siliphos Spheres provide an ideal combination of orthophosphates and polyphosphates.

The orthophosphates react with the calcium bicarbonates in the water supply to form a thin, tight, non-corrosive, passivating film on the pipe walls. This film acts as a glass-like coating, separating the water from the metal plumbing and hot water system, thus preventing and protecting the plumbing, tanks, pipes, and water systems from corrosion.

The KleenWater Sediment and Corrosion Control Water Filtration System is designed to provide sediment entrapment down to 5 microns, effectively controlling corrosion caused by acidic pH. It protects the hot water system and appliances from corrosion and scale accumulation. The system is made in Italy using safe polyethylene and includes two filter housings, a wrench, two zinc-coated steel mounting brackets, one sediment filter cartridge, and one pH corrosion control cartridge.
